Amaury Dubois creates a street art mural at Roubaix train station car park for the URBX festival
A new artwork at the heart of an open-air street art gallery
As part of the URBX festival in Roubaix, contemporary artist and painter Amaury Dubois took part in the Dép’Art Urbain project by creating a mural inside the Jean Lebas train station car park.
Far from being just a parking area, this space has gradually been transformed into a true open-air street art gallery, offering visitors a unique artistic journey in the heart of the city. The walls, ramps, and various areas of the building now host artworks created by French and international urban artists.
A mural inspired by the abstract series Planet of Sound
For this creation in Roubaix, Amaury Dubois drew inspiration from his Planet of Sound series, an abstract universe in which the artist explores movement, vibration, and visual energy.
Through this mural, he translates his artistic language onto a new medium: organic curves, dynamic shapes, and an intense color palette interact with the architecture of the space.
This artwork is part of the artist’s broader creative approach, developed over several years through his contemporary abstract paintings, sculptures, and mural projects. His work is based on an ongoing exploration of movement, color, and perception, where each composition invites the viewer into an immersive experience.
For this URBX project, the artist offers a personal vision of street art, closer to contemporary abstraction, where color becomes a universal language and where forms appear to be constantly evolving.
